Happy New Year #BunnySquad

I might be a little bit late (a tiny bit) and I also missed Christmas (I know, I kinda failed) but I wanted to start this year by sharing this with you all.

In December, I had a Christmas Giveaway to my subscribers on Twitch. A few ended up winning 1-2 kg of Swedish chocolate/candy from me. So I ended up shipping tons of sweetness all over the world. I asked the winners to take some selfies of themselves with the prizes that they won.

and here they are:

I just wanted to thank everyone who supported me in 2017 and that has been there for me since day one of my journey. I can never thank you enough. From the bottom of my heart,Thank you, thank you, thank you!

For those that didn’t win, don’t worry! I will have more giveaways in the future. So better luck next time!

California – May 2017

For those who didn’t know, I was away during May. I was in California, mostly in Los Angeles. I had a lovely time with my other half and I spent time with my best friend who I had missed dearly. Two whole years since I saw him and it meant the world to me to see him again.

I met some of my friends who I had also missed dearly. I didn’t have a lot of time so I wasn’t able to see everyone which was a shame. Doesn’t mean I don’t like them less or anything it was just lack of time and place. For those who were able to meet me, I was very happy to catch up.

We rented a car and traveled all over the place. The longest route was to San Francisco. I had been there before so it wasn’t anything new but I went there to see my friends and to explore once again. I went to San Jose for the first time and it was quite warm compared to San Francisco. I was so surprised. The place we were staying at was in San Bruno and it was foggy AF there, like Silent Hill foggy. I was not fond of that weather at all. The place we stayed at had a indoor pool so I was freezing when I went to point A to B just for that swim. As soon as you leave that area, the fog is gone and you see the sun shining through, crazy. Not staying there next time I am down. *Shivers*
I think I lost time of how many times I went to the Cheesecake Factory but one thing I was disappointed was that I didn’t have my cheesecake : ( of all the things to miss. Vanilla Bean and Oreo Cheesecake…I will get you next time.

I had my Korean BBQ though, bless. I love Korean BBQ and we don’t have that self frying pan, whatever you call it here and I am mad disappointed. All you can eat BBQ is like heaven, gosh I am drooling just writing this. Calm down Siara.

Tender Greens is nice too. Not the comfiest place to sit and eat but the food is worth it. Kinda healthy…I guess.

The only fast food I actually enjoy eating is In N Out, nothing beats that. It’s not AMAZING like everyone says it is, because I feel like everyone is overrating it but it’s definitely a go to place if I would pick a fast food place. The animal style fries…yes please.

Okay I just realized that I am writing about food again which is a bit depressing. I did do other things than eating food. I went hiking in west LA, I went to the beach, hired a bike and biked around the boardwalk. I also went to the Santa Monica Pier (my hoooood) and went to the small cozy Santa Monica arcade like the good ol times.

I went to Little Tokyo in Downtown LA and had Japanese Udon noodles. (damn it food related again)

All of this made me so emotional and it’s crazy how my three years in LA went by so fast. It’s a place I adore and it will always be my home no matter where I am in this world. I have moved to a lot of places and whenever I wonder back on memory lane, LA pops into my mind. I will never let that go, it’s my happy little place and I was blessed to be able to live there.

I hope this post didn’t get cheesy and too much food related. There is also a video montage if you’re interested to watch. Hope you enjoy.

Dish of the Month: Eggs Royale @ Muriel’s Kitchen (April)

(Note that this was written in April and published in May)

Name of Resturant: Muriel’s Kitchen
Location: United Kingdom, London
Dish: Eggs Royale
Price: £10.50/120 kr/€11/$14
Size: One Size
Gluten Free: No (might have gluten free bread)
Vegetarian: Yes
Lactose Free: Yes (exclude sauce)

Menu: poached eggs, smoked salmon and fresh spinach served on a sourdough toast

This was my first time trying out this place and I went there during breakfast hours. I am really fond of Salmon so I wanted to give this a try and I was not disappointed with my choice. The only thing I want to complain about this dish is the portion. Other people might think it’s enough as a breakfast but I felt like it was a bit too small for me. I would be able to eat another one without any problems for sure. I had my breakfast with some tea (like always).

I am not fond of sourdough but this bread did not taste like a typical sourdough bread which made me happy. You can eat this as “two” breads by separating the top and and the bottom bread, it also makes it easier to eat that way too.

Pricing was a bit too much in my opinion. £10.50 for breakfast in that portion = meh. I am curious about their lunch menu though so perhaps I will go back to taste something else from that menu.

Overall I think the dish itself was tasty but the portion and the size wasn’t the best combo. If you eat less than me then I would recommend it, or you can order two : )

London Town

As some of you already know, I went to London recently to see Bruno Mars live in the O2 Arena. Yes, I flew oversees just to see him #datdedicationtho. Before I actually saw him I was strolling around London, spending time with friends and eating out (#foodporn).

I usually don’t go to tourist:y places in London due to being in there too often. So seeing “Big Ben” and the whole parliament to me is just nothing special but wanted to take photos for my blog and I decided that the best place to take London photos would be at that location so that’s why we went there.

After that we went to grab some Boba tea at my favorite boba tea place, Chai Time.

mm chocolate boba tea….

After spending some time around Soho it was time to head to Nando’s to grab some dinner. Nando’s is probably my go to place whenever I don’t know what to eat. The restaurant can be found almost everywhere and I never get tired of it. They’re known for their tasty chicken.

mm Foodporn

I did go shopping too (#Primark4Lyfe) not clothes though, it was just random items that I needed and some make-up from The Body Shop. I got a really cool t-shirt thought that says Nintendo 64 on it though and I love it. Although I got it at the male section. I’m not fond of men size t-shirts, it looks like a potato bag when I wear them so I am going to use my lame skills and create a different look with the tshirt that I bought. I hope I won’t mess it up.

Next post will be all about Bruno Mars! Stay tuned.

Dish of the Month: Chicken Gyros @ Meat Greek (March)

It’s time to post the Dish of the Month for March!

Name of Resturant: Meat the Greek
Location: Sweden, Gothenburg
Dish: Pita Chicken Gyros
Price: 69 kr/£6/€7/$10
Size: One Size
Gluten Free: Yes if ordered without the Pita.
Lactose Free: Yes. Without Sauce (might be mayo)

This a place that I have fallen in love with since Summer last year. They have a lot of other things to offer in their Menu but the one I have settled with (for now) is their Chicken Pita. If you haven’t had Greek food before, then you have been missing out for sure.

I don’t remember the last time I had Greek food before I found this place, so I can’t compare it with other places which is a bit tricky when it comes to rating this dish. There might be other restaurants out there that tastes even better than this one and I am not a pro when it comes to rating dishes but hey, I am the writer so I’m just going to go with the flow.

The sauce that they use in this dish is something I haven’t had before which makes the dish even more special. They add chips/fries inside the Pita and it tastes delicious. Drink is not included with the price, I ordered water which was free.  Almost all of their ingredients are imported from Greece!

I can’t complain about anything with this dish so I have to give it a 10/10. It’s a dish I never get tired of and I always look forward to eat there whenever I decide to go. This dish deserves a medal.

If you live around Gothenburg, then I definitely recommend you to try this. If you are allergic to Gluten you can order the dish without the bread and go with the salad instead, although it’s the bread itself that makes the whole dish perfect but more chips/fries is good too. This dish is also suitable for people who have problems with Lactose. Although, I am not 100% sure if  their sauce contains milk. Note that other dishes comes with yogurt that contains lactose. I am just reviewing this particular dish.

Dish of the Month: Sushi @ Super Sushi (February)

It’s time to post the Dish of the Month for February.

I decided to go to my favorite Sushi restaurant (originally Chinese food but they serve Sushi too) for this months review.

Name of Resturant: Super Sushi
Location: Sweden, Gothenburg
Price: 95 kr/£8/$12
Size: Small
Gluten Free: Yes
Lactose Free: Yes
Dish: 12 pieces of Sushi – 2 Salmon, 1 Shrimp, 1 Crab stick, 1 Tuna, 1 Whitefish, 6 mixed rolls (Maki + Inside Out)

You are allowed to change the pieces if you’re not fond of certain rolls. I decided to go with:

4 Salmon, 1 Tuna, 1 White Fish, 6 Maki (Maki = cucumber roll with Salmon)

This is a place I’ve gone to since I was 17 (= 8 years) exclude the years when I was living in america and went to other Sushi places : ) This is one of my favorite places to order Sushi from. Their fish is always fresh and good and are in good sizes/portions and it’s not overly prices too. Also, you can choose between Small or Big pieces.

I am not a Sushi expert when it comes to taste but for me, this place is the place to go to whenever I want to have Sushi with a friend or on the go/take away. I have never had any issues with this place. The only thing I have to “complain” about is that their other Sushi restaurant (they have another one in a different location) is super small and never has room to sit down and eat. Although, according to one of their staffs, starting from 1st of February, the owner has changed and will not have anything to do with the smaller Super Sushi restaurant. He also mentioned that the main restaurant will focus more on their Chinese menu too, but the Sushi menu will stay the same as it is at the moment.

Miso Soup is included in this dish too, no extra charge.

Rating:

Is a 9 too high? No I don’t think so. The rating is combined with the price and service, not only the taste. I’ve been to many other Sushi restaurants and I’ve never found anything cheaper with that nice fish quality in Gothenburg. Why I didn’t give it a 10 was because of them not having Salmon Skin Roll in their menu. That’s one of my favorite rolls.

Dish of the Month

So I came up with this idea of reviewing a dish every month in different restaurants/Coffee shops/fast food places. Why? Because I love food and I want others to experience and learn more about different dishes and places. It can be from pizza to a cupcake. & of course, I am going to take foodporn pictures, in sexy angles (oh yeah baby)

I will rate everything from 1-10. One is the yuckiest while 10 is the best.

I am looking forward to eat…I mean!! It’s the sake for the blog, only for the blog *cough*

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…or is it?

December, lights, music and yummy food. It sounds good doesn’t? But, everyone doesn’t have that feeling of joy in December, even though they have everything they need in life.

Winter can be depressing at times (depends where you live). If you live in a dark cold place like I do then you will relate to this post. This post is going to be about how to get the Christmas spirit back up on cloud 9, like it used to be when you were a kid.

Before I get into it, I know some of you might not even celebrate Christmas but this post is a guidance to those who doesn’t like cold winters so it might help you a bit too, so don’t give up reading this yet!

Small meaningful things matters. I always told myself that in life, you don’t have to make major changes to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Start appreciating small things in life! It could be from looking forward to eat a yummy meal for dinner to seeing a childhood friend for coffee. It is that simple.

crochinbunnyspag

Food. Some of the small things I enjoy in life is food. I like trying new dishes, eating my favorite dishes and taking nice foodporn angled pictures! Some people don’t see food the way I do of course, everyone is different but if you’re like me when it comes to food, then keep doing what you’re doing.

Challenges. I love to challenge myself in something. If I have a goal or a deadline I try my best to be as creative as possible and just make it happen. Even if I don’t manage to finish a goal in time, I would still be proud of myself for finishing what I started. That satisfaction is the best. So try to be creative and make a list of things you want to do week by week.

img_0509

Baking. This might categorize as food but I still think it’s a bit different. During December you will stumble on a lot of Christmas decorations and a lot of Christmas music, the only thing that is missing is the baking! Start baking something that contains cinnamon and ginger! There are tons of recipes out there that you can try! Perhaps it’s time to skill up your baking skills? You will end up learning something at the same times as making something yummy. Isn’t that awesome?

tree

Decorating. November is almost at its end and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Usually, you wait until Thanksgiving is over until you start with the decorations but you know what? Who cares? If you feel like putting up your tree before that time, good for you! An early start might give you a small boost of Christmas spirit!

Candles. This might sound ridiculous but this actually helps. Scented candles is like therapy for me. Try to find Christmas scented candles for your home! My ultimate favorite is Apple Cinnamon Pumpkin from Bath & Body Works. Their candles are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! They last for a long time too. I bought two candles from there years ago and it took two years to actually finish them off. Note that I didn’t use them everyday. I did light them up often though, mostly when I was taking a bubble bath. Ah, good times. You can find out more of their products here.

Lists. (yeah yeah my handwriting sucks eh) Don’t wait until the New Year starts to follow up with your New Years resolution, start today! Start making a list of things you want to do and accomplish. Also, keep track on your accomplished goals so that you remember them and feel happy about the outcome. Don’t forget to give yourself a pat on the back too.

Events. Are you good at organizing things and do gatherings? Perhaps you should start hosting your own events! Try to organize an event once a month with your friends. It could be a hangout at home playing board games or going bowling. It’s really up to you! Make a group chat/event on a platform and make it happen.

img_6966

Playlist. If you’re trying to get the Christmas spirit up, make sure to make a Christmas playlist on Spotify! (or any other platform you use for music) If you’re not into Christmas music then make a winter playlist of your favorite old and new music.

Movies. Last but not least, Christmas movies. The one I recommend the most is Home Alone. That one is a good nostalgic “Christmasy” movie. It always airs on tv close to Christmas and I love that movie so much. If you’re not fond of that movie no worries! There are tons more out there!

I hope this list gave you some inspiration of things to do during this cold and dark winter. Let me know if you’re already doing some of these things!

Visiting Lido di Venezie

divi

Today was a wonderful day like yesterday.

We ended up waking up early and once again…eating breakfast on the bus (typical us). Today we headed to Lido di Venezia. This is an island that can be reached by boat. The boat ride costs €8 each (one way) and is about 45 minute long (really depends where you take the boat but that’s the time it took for us) we were lucky to find seats because it gets pretty packed and the boat comes every 20 minutes so you better catch your seat before anyone else!

img_051545 minutes later we ended up on the island and I must say, I fell in love. It wasn’t a lot of tourists around here, it was mostly locals and it wasn’t packed like the other places. We ended up strolling around and somehow found the beach lol. We were following people that seem to head to the beach and we ended up there luckily. It was so funny. We ended up being there for three hours. I got fried, literally. I had applied sunscreen on my whole body and redid it a couple of times and I still got burned : ( it was not fun. The sun there is way closer than California. I was actually surprised. I ended up going into the ocean a couple of times to cool off though!

foodorder

We ended up having lunch in this random restaurant that we chose. Got my Spaghetti Bolognese and Josh got a Pizza. There were so many things I wanted to order in the menu but I was scared of eating too much cheese once again so I skipped it. The Bolognese was alright. The first one we got in Venice was way better though.

bridge2

Later on we started strolling around the area and taking photos. Then we decided to head back. We had a 45 minute boat ride then a 20 minute bus ride to take and the time was close to 6 PM.

About 1 hour later we were finally back! We ended up going to the flat to quickly drop our things and then we ended up heading out once again  to grab some dinner.

foodpornpizza

I am not sure if this was a mistake or not but…I ended up ordering a pizza with their homemade cheese from that particular town…very stupid of me. It was so good though : ( but it made me once again sick. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever tasted though.

burgerporn

Josh ordered a burger once again. It did not come with a bun “lid” and it looked like it was on a bread toast rather than a hamburger bun lol.

It’s sad to say that tonight is our last night in Italy. I am actually not looking forward to tomorrow. This trip has been the most amazing trip ever and the fact that I got to travel here with someone special makes it even more special.

Would I visit Italy again? Definitely.

Riding a Gondola in Venice

I don’t know where to start with this blog post. First of all, today was a magical day and also painful. Never wear uncomfortable high heels in Venice, actually, never wear heels in Venice in general, period.

pose

We took the bus to Venice early in the morning and ended up eating our breakfast on the bus so that we would avoid a lot of crowds in Venice. As soon as I arrived, I got amazed by the water canals and started taking photo of every single thing I found fascinating, like a real tourist lol. I was so amazed of this town and how it was “designed”. No cars, just boats. Venice is quite bigger than I thought it would be. Perhaps that’s because we were walking a lot today. We ended up heading to St Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) and went up to the St Mark’s Tower to watch the view. Of course it was a long queue when we arrived (boo) but it only lasted for 30 minutes then we were good to go. The cost of going up the tower was €8 each.

img_0331

tower

We headed back down and that’s when my feet were killing me. The heels I was wearing were new and I hadn’t really walked with them a lot so I wasn’t sure if they were comfortable or not. I had to buy new shoes right away. We walked around a bit but no shoe places anywhere. We passed so many before we arrived to the square but now…nothing. After some while I ended up finding a few shops. Found a pair of shoes in my size (I didn’t care how they looked like, that’s how desperate I was) bought them and wore them right away. They looked alright but after like 1 hour of walking the insoles were sliding off somehow and when I took out my foot I noticed that the glue had melted off due to the heat. Cheap ass shoes indeed. Nothing I could’ve done I just had to deal with it the rest of the day (ended up throwing them when I got back).

Josh’s friend recommended a restaurant to eat in Venice and apparently they had meatballs in their menu! We got lost a few times but it took us a good hour to find it. When we finally arrived we saw a notice outside the door saying that the restaurant wont be open from mid July till end of August. I was really sad because I wanted my meatballs (sob) we ended up going into a random restaurant nearby and had some spaghetti bolognese and it was amazing.

crochinbunnyspag

After that we ended up strolling around the area and enjoying the weather and the view. I always wanted to ride a Gondola ever since I was a little girl but the pricing of the 20 minute ride was ridiculous. The charge was €80 (daytime) to ride one. I am not sure if you need to pay more if there are more people than two on it though. We ended up going on one in the end and I must say it was worth it to me. Not because of my childhood dream coming through but the view and the canals were just so fascinating. All these buildings have a history and it was amazing to see all of that from the Gondola. I am happy that we went on one in the end.

gon

After that we decided to walk around the area once again, eat ice cream and take more photos. After some time, we decided to go back to the flat and have dinner around here instead. We had been walking since early in the morning and it was 6 PM when we decided to go back. My feet are still hurting from today and I just wanted to throw those shoes away and clean my feet from the glue of the shoes I got on me.

townbun

I changed my outfit for the evening to feel a bit more fresh (lol) all that walking earlier made me uncomfortable in that dress. So we decided to take more photos and then find a place to eat. We went to a different place this time and they had some interesting things on their menu. I decided to get a eggplant pizza (I told  them to add dried beef on top of it to make it my own version) it was really good. I enjoyed it a lot. Josh ordered a funny looking hamburger that looked like a sandwich somehow. He enjoyed it regardless. After that we decided to head back and here I am writing this. It was a long day indeed but it was a memorable one.

Can’t wait to head to Lido di Venezia tomorrow!
