Best Music Between 2000-2006

Wanted to dedicate today’s post to nostalgic music that I grew up listening to. Thought it would be a fun post to do and hopefully make other feel the nostalgic too.

Black Eyed Peas – Shut Up (Released: 2003)

This one is a classic of my early teenage years. I used to listen to this song none stop.  I fell in love with it. I really enjoyed listening to the Black Eyes Peas back then. Fergie looks bomb.

Hey Ya! (Released: 2003)
This music…I listened to this song over and over again and this was the time when I was living in the UK. This is one of the best songs of OutKast in my opinion (Roses is the second) If you haven’t heard  this one then you’ve been living under a rock.

Britney Spears – Oops!… I Did It Again (Released: 2000)

My favorite female artist when I was a kid was Britney Spears. I thought she was the coolest chick ever and I wanted to be just like her haha I even learned the whole dance of this music video. I bought the same style of shoes she would wear in her music videos and try to have the same hair styles like her. Good times.

*Nsync – Bye Bye Bye (Released: 2000)
If you haven’t listened  to this one before then I must say you’ve been missing out. Shame on you. Make sure to watch it now instead and I’ll forgive you. This one is a classic.

Nelly Furtado – Promiscuous (Released: 2006)

Anyone remembers Nelly Furtado? This one is a good one with Timbaland. I loved it back then. It was catchy as fudge, still is. Need more music like this one. I feel like the music has died today. Another goodie is “Say it Right” and “Maneater”.

The Pussycat Dolls – Stickwitu (Released: 2005)

This brings me a lot of memories of my first love (Looool joking) but seriously this was really good back in the day (still good) So much Nokia branding in their music videos though lol it screams promotion.

JoJo – Leave  (Get Out) – (Released: 2004)

Last but not least JoJo. This one is a huge classic to me. I played this none stop in the UK all the time. She was on the radio none stop too. Never got tired of her voice. She is still bomb today and I am looking forward to her journey.

  1. Haaaa 🙂
Hey ya !!! I think it’s probably the greatest video clip of the last decade.
It is so fun, so cool and so well made and put together. It is genius.
I actually have been watching a serie on Netflix lately that reminds me of it; “The Get Down”.
You should check it out if you love music and to be honest I’m 100% sure you will love it.

I loved “Roses” too from Outkast, as well as “Ms Jackson”. Outkast was such a great duo very versatile, you had the crazy, excentric one with Andrè and the core rapper Big boi. I really liked them.

I was a big fan of the Black Eyed Peas too in the early 2000 but who wasn’t? Those guys were hitmakers. Those guys made hits with onomatopeias lol Just like Chris Martin (Coldplay lead singer) but I love it.

It’s funny how much you can learn about someone just by knowing what they listen to lol.
Obviously you really are into hip hop and rn’b. I wasn’t that much different in the early 00’s but obviously I listened a lot of french music that you probably don’t know about. I think my music taste has

I’m going to attempt to make a list of music and artists I really enjoyed from the 2000’s

    – Norah Jones
I think I cannot really express how much of an impact Norah Jones’ first album, “Come Away With Me”, has had on my life and shaped the way i see and love music today. I have basically learnt english thanks to this album and every occasion was an excuse to listen to it. And it is so relaxing…
If you haven’t listened to it yet. SHAME ON YOU Saria lol
No really I think it’s among those album that I consider “perfect”. Those albums back in the days that had one main theme, and that every song were put together to make ONE work of art. What I mean is that when you put the songs all together you understand the global meaning of the album. I know a handful albums like that, you have “Thriller” from MJ,
    “Bad”,
“Discovery” of Daft Punk (I love love love love this album)
and of course Come Away With Me – Norah Jones
It is honestly very hard for me to pick up one favorite song from this album. I love the pace of the album, I love Norah’s jazzy voice, I love the instruments the piano, the guitar and violon. It is so simple and so profound.
I could go on for ever lol

It’s funny because back then I was a little bit ashamed to be a fan of Norah. I would never say it in public. Obviously it’s not very manly to a fan of Norah Jones when you’re in your teenage year… But somehow every person I introduced to Norah Jones has then became a fan 🙂 Which I am very proud.

    – Daft Punk
Everybody knows at least a song of Daft Punk and I knew too even before being a fan. They would always make weird/funny video clip that stood out from the rest. I remember “around the world” that was quite psychedelic in its own way lol
But it’s only with the video clip of “One more time”, “Digital Love” that they really got me. Apparently they are big fans of japanese animes so they reached Kazuhisa Takenouchi the creator of Albator to make Interstella 5555. And it was amazing.
Insterstella 5555 is actually the video clip, the film/anime, of the “Discovery” album. A true masterpiece.
If you have time, if you have like 1h30 to spare, please take some of it and watch the entire Interstella 5555 on youtube if haven’t already. This is so worth it.

And for god damn it this is music with a proper message. It is a critic of the music industry. What we were talking about for JoJo on your other post… This is what Daft Punk was criticizing on this album. Labels that take over artists to make more money.

    – Gage
I don’t want to share to much french speaking artists on here I think it would probably be pointless because I like songs with meaning, songs with a messages and I don’t think you would understand any of these songs anyway but I really like Gage back then.

    – Peter Von Poehl

I discovered this song on a movie called the “arnacoeur”…
I just love to play it on the piano. That’s all.

    – Amy Winehouse
Back To Black. I would put this album in my top 10 of all time.
For all the shit she got when she was still alive. Amy Winehouse for me was a genius. I really mean it.
I love her voice. I’m actually the type of person who could fall in love with a voice lmao.

    Love is a losing game

    – Kanye West
Kanye is by far my favorite male music artist from the 2000-2010 decade.
This guy is such a genius. People give him shit nowdays because he is married to a Kardashian and let’s be honest he is a bit of an asshole sometimes too but…

    2004 : The College Dropout
    2005 : Late Registration
    2007 : Graduation
2010 : My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Those are all classic in my book.
Sorry. imma let you finish lol
He is great. “Can he get much higher?!” 😀

Kanye West – Runaway (Full-length Film)

Of course between 2000-2006 there were a lot of other artists that I enjoyed like Eminem, The destiny’s child, Aaliyah, R Kelly, IAM, NTM, Sniper, Nas, Jay Z, Shaggy, Lenny Kravitz, Kings of Leon, Alicia Keys, Kid Cudi, Grand Corps Malade, Justin Timberlake…
So many artists, so little time.

    1. Aww thanks for reading my blog! Thank you for the song recommendations! I’ve heard some of them before : )
